Hello friends, Lal & I are back from Sri Lanka where we flee every year from the winter in Boston. It was full of excitement, with elections, cut out wars and most of all, a Paduru Party at OT's, organized by Mahendra. Many thanks to both.If this was anything to go by, our reunion in August will no doubt be a success! We also got the opportunity to visit two Boutique Hotels. One belonging to Ambaya in Neboda and the other, Kathy & Jiff's at the Galle Fort. Both are so unique. The same is true of OT's place at Bolgoda. If you have the opportunity, I strongly recommend visiting them. Ambaya is the quintessential colonial icon!!! Naturally his place is called the Colonial House! The view from the swimming pool is "out of this world"! To me, the most memorable event was Balaya being elevated to the status of a GRAND FATHER! Yes, he has a 2 month old grand son.I have a picture to prove it. 30 yrs ago would anyone have believed that he would be the first Seeya in the batch? My apologies to you,,...Gaffor , your status doesn't really count, as you had an advantage over all of us. So, the date & the venue for our reunion is set.
Please make your reservations directly with the Tangerine Beach Hotel. If anyone needs to stay there the day before, that can be done too. Any suggestions to spice up the outing will be gladly implemented. I am hoping that Mahendra will organize the musical aspect of it. I am doing my best to get some pictures on a web album. So far no success! Warm Regards, Nimmi |
